An Armenian for Arameans

I have been using Utalk now for more than 5 years, and I can tell you that it is certainly one of the best apps available for basic language accommodation, and it is being constantly improved. In the midst of all of the obscure language offerings (e.g. Esperanto - an invented language), they have miserably failed to see their opportunity to provide support for endangered languages - more specifically, the most currently endangered language... Aramaic. Aramaic (Western/Suryoyo, Eastern/Assyrian, and Classical Aramaic) is in danger of disappearing from the face of the earth. Whole communities are being slaughtered in the middle east, and whereas the implications and repercussions thereof are much greater than that of just a language, the annihilation of those communities means the elimination of the center of language knowledge for the worldwide diaspora of Arameans. My language, Western Armenian*, was in danger of annihilation more than a century ago in the Great Christian Genocide, of which the Armenian Genocide was a part -- 1.5+million Armenians, 300-500 thousand Arameans, and tens of thousands of Greek and many other Christian ethnic groups in the Middle East were slaughtered. Thanks be to Almighty God and His Church that brave men and women were preserved and kept their languages to this day. The Hebrew language would be extinct had not the Lord returned his people to Zion and given them a hero to revive their language. Now, Utalk has the opportunity to be one of those new heroes for the Aramean community worldwide. If any of the Utalk developers are reading this, feel free to contact me or a Maronite, Eastern Aramean, or Aramaen Pentecostal Church, and I am sure you will find all the help you need to make this a reality -- and some great people too!!! Lets defeat at least one of ISIS goals and preserve the language of this ancient people!!!! This is your opportunity Utalk, take it!!!!!!! yAnun Yisusi Qristosi Hisusi Anunov Hisusi Anvampn Bshem Yeshua HaMashiach Bshmi Yshua Mshikha Bsm(i) Yesuah(a) AlMesiah(i) En el Nombre de JesuCristo In the Name of Jesus the Messiah Amen Amen Amen <*Utalks Armenian offering is actually Modern Eastern Armenian - the dialect of appx. 18-19th century Ararat, influenced by Modern Yerevanian Dialect. This is the language spoken in what is left of Armenia proper, after the genocide. Western Armenian was dispersed after the genocide and thus is the predominant language of the diaspora>

The app I was waiting for

There are so many languages here. Ive been waiting for an app like this to learn Cebuano. This app is addicting and keeps language learning fresh. Its nice to learn fun facts about the world as well. The memory game is good for training your brain too.

Bad app

Dont buy this App. If you ever have to restore your purchase it may not let you do it. Not a bad app but lousy company.

We need dialogues & work in background

Its a great app its very useful just we need some dialogues and we want it works in the background thats it thank you so much you are great keep doing the great job and improve this app more and more

Premium NOT

Purchased the Premium version and was charged multiple times and it never downloaded

Disappointed in the new update !

When I purchased the app a few weeks ago, I only wanted one language, was very happy with it as it had a lot of options for that one language, with the current update, it has piles of languages, but the one specific language I originally bought has so few options !! To get all the options I originally I had I now need to purchase again. Very unhappy

Excellent support

I really like the uTalk app. Its one of the very few language apps that offers Slovenian. I also had trouble restoring my purchases after an iPhone upgrade, but I emailed support and they got back to me quickly and had me up and running again in no time. Now if I could only be so quick with my language retention.

BEST APP TO LEARN LANGUAGES

There are languages on hear I never knew existed and now I know a lot of languages!

I Want Tuvaluan!

I teach the Tuvaluan language at a private middle/high school in Northern New Jersey. I downloaded the app so I could create lesson plans in basic greetings, pronunciation, etc. However, I was extremely disappointed when I figured out there was no Tuvaluan language icon! You need to create a Tuvaluan language icon!

Great language-learning app!

I love uTalk. I have purchased many of their premium languages, and theyre great. Here are a few ideas I think might make this app stand above the rest: 1. If you have more than one language on your list, their should be a study option where ALL languages can be studied at the same time. Youll get random phrases and words from the languages purchased. Itll make studying more challenging and interesting. The algorithm will continue drilling you on the wrong answers, so that wont change. 2. More related sentences/words one might use in the country itself. 3. More words like, spoon, fork, etc. 4. More sentences. 5. This might not happen, but simple grammatical explanations that cant be ignored. Thats all for now. I could only see this app getting better... I hope. Great job, guys!

Too good for cheap

Really really good!! Best language learning ever found. Learning a lot in a lil time

Love this app but...

I upgraded to the new version and I can barely hear the audio even with the iPhone volume turned to max. Very disappointed.

great app.

great app, i had to travel to PNG for business and wanted to learn a little Tok Pisin before i went and this is literally the ONLY way i could unless i watched some youtube videos with horrible quality video, audio, and lessons. tenkyu uTalk

Let us choose words!

I want so very badly to give this five stars, and if an update comes out with just one feature, Ill give it SIX stars. Believe me, Ill find a way. Heres the feature: let us select some of the terms and just play all the games from our selected list. I have hunted and hunted for that feature, and if it exists, Im baffled how to find it. But I bought this app to learn some survival language for a mission trip with a conservative, teetotaling Christian group, but the app is forcing me to practice the phrase for "Two beers please." Let me choose which terms I need and only practice those, and I will be thrilled with this app. And if that already exists, make it easier to find.

Wow

Im surprisingly pleased with this app! I downloaded it expecting to not find the language I wanted to learn (Tigrinya) and to my surprise they had it, and on top of that it is actually very accurate! My mother has corrected a few things that I would try to tell her, but for the most part the best $17 Ive spent!
